Bessie Coleman - An American LegacyIt's all about "Queen Bessie" Coleman - an American Icon! In the early 1900's, she refused to accept "no" as an answer to her request to learn to fly an airplane. She did not accept the prevailing American belief that an airplane would not respond to her because her skin was brown and because she was a woman!
