Bessie Coleman - An American Legacy

It's all about Elizabeth "Queen Bessie" Coleman - an American Icon! In the early 1900's, she refused to accept "no" as an answer to her request to learn to fly an airplane. She did not accept the prevailing American belief that an airplane would not respond to her because her skin was brown and because she was a woman! Are you a black female pilot? Are you interested in flying?

Well, we want to connect with you! There will be no pressure to join BCF. But it makes sense for Queen Bess’ legacy to be the link between black female pilots. Recently, CNN contacted BCF because they perceive us to be the authority on information about black female pilots. We realize that there is a need for BCF to have a measurable database of the diversity within aviation careers. We realize that there is synergy in numbers. Perhaps together we can establish an aviation scholarship from Sisters to Sisters!  But we need your help. Please fill out the short contact form on the right and we will be in touch with you. Together we can ensure that Queen Bess’ legacy continues. Spread the word and Fly-Sister-Fly!
